Every school year, students stack up on textbooks and academic prep books for their studies and classes. However, at the end of the academic year, these books, many times unused, are discarded or just catch dust in a book shelf, never to be touched again. Academic textbooks such as High School AP Text Books and SAT or ACT books are extremely expensive; students spend up to $3600 on new textbooks every year. This high cost causes a number of students to be unable to purchase textbooks, relying on more accessible free online material that may not be enough for the student to fully succeed. Orlando Book Bank was formed by a group of motivated high school students to help students from all backgrounds gain easier access to books.
